TV Guide reports that after the infamous selfie was posted to Twitter 30 minutes later, it was retweeted over 400, 000 times that night and it is now the most retweeted image of all time since President Obama's re-election tweet of 778,424 retweets in 2012.

Great story, Ryan! Did you know that there has been some concern that this selfie was planned? The rumor is that Samsung had this all planned out in promotion of their new product-line! Crazy stuff! This was very well written! :)
ReplyDeleteI find it crazy that a picture like this was retweeted over 400,000 times after being posted for only 30 minutes! Selfies are a big thing in society right now, you see them everywhere. Combine that with well-known celebrities and you have an instant hit. I didn't want much of the Oscars, just had it on briefly, and I happened to see this portion of the show when they were taking that picture. I will agree with Josh in that it did seem planned, but who knows.
