In the spirit of Halloween and Flashback Friday, we are going to take you back to last year when the KSSU-TV staff really got into the spirit of Halloween.

Thursday's KSSU News Broadcast

You can now watch this past Thursday's edition of KSSU News on YouTube right now.

On Thursday's edition, we covered the Northstar Train Accident in Elk River, and an illusionist that kept people on the edge of their seats. Plus Matt Callahan, previewed the MN Vikings Game on Sunday as well as SMSU Football coming back to the Schwan Regional Event Center tonight.

Homecoming Parade Televised on KSSU-TV

The 2014 SMSU Homecoming Parade will once again be televised this year.

Join hosts Emilie Baartman and Matt Callahan as they give you an in-depth look at all the floats participating in this year's parade. Plus Ryan Bartz, will be out on the streets asking people about their favorite Homecoming experiences.

If you decide to come out to the parade, catch Cole Miska and Hannah Medlang as this year's public address announcers.

The parade will kick off at 11:00 am on Charter 28.9 (on campus) and 180 (off campus) and WOW 67.

You can also watch the parade through the KSSU-TV Live stream link under the Campus Life section of the SMSU website.

Homecoming Coronation 2014

16 people were nominated for this year's Homecoming Coronation but only one King and one Queen took home the crown.

Craig Fischer and Meghan Johnson were crowned King and Queen last night as part of the "Rise of the Mustangs" Homecoming Celebration at SMSU.

You can see both Fischer and Johnson and the rest of this year's Homecoming candidates at the annual Homecoming Parade tomorrow morning at 11:00 a.m. SMSU Today reports that the parade will run its usual route, starting from Lyon St. to Main St. then north, disbanding at 5th St.

They will also be introduced to the general public before the Homecoming Football game against Upper Iowa at 5:45 p.m. at the Schwan Regional Event Center.

KSSU-TV is Back for Another Year

With only a month into the school year, members of the SMSU Radio and TV Club have officially begun a brand new season of KSSU News @ 12:30.

KSSU News @12:30 just premiered its first live newscast for the 2014-2015 school year. Each week, you can join Ryan Bartz, Leah Danielson, and Emilie Baartman as they give you the latest news and weather from Southwest Minnesota. Also, Matt Callahan will give you all the latest SMSU and Minnesota sports news you need to know as well.

If you have missed our first live newscast on Tuesday, your in luck, another new episode of KSSU News @ 12:30 will air tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. Throughout the school year, you can catch new episodes of KSSU News on  Tuesdays and Thursdays each week at 12:30 p.m. on Charter 28.9 and WOW 99.
